Magpie Photography began in 2016, as a move from in-house photography at a high-end jeweller to freelance photography based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

| Born and raised in Birmingham, and the forth generation of my family to be in the jewellery trade, it is a small wonder how my career hasn’t included a jewellers bench. Having family in the jewellery industry and an upbringing in a jeweller’s workshop, I have an understanding of jewellery on par with some who have built their careers around it.But this is only the beginning; I have always enjoyed collaboration with other creatives, and Magpie Photography is the first step in establishing a creative network in Magpie Creative. |

HERITAGE
With combined backgrounds in Jewellery and photography, and direct family members who include hand engravers, gemmologists, and professional photographers, we at Magpie Photography were practically bred to photograph jewellery. That combination of backgrounds and training means that we understand exactly how jewellery should look and how to immortalise that in a photo.
IN THE QUARTER
We are based in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, just around the corner from the Birmingham Assay Office.
With one of us having grown up here and the other getting married with rings bought at one of the local retailers, we at Magpie Photography are well established within the community of the Jewellery Quarter.
EXPERTISE
While now specialising in jewellery photography, Callum has also had the training to offer many other creative services that you may need. Having spent five years studying graphic design, he has a proficiency in design for both print and web, as well as illustration, animation, and font design.
